About the Role
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and effective Director, Development Operations Infrastructure Engineering. This role is responsible for the design and governance of PPFA’s web server infrastructure, including compliance, network, security, and server design. The Director architects complex infrastructure systems to silently provide uninterrupted services and defines the infrastructure technology stack, standards, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and govern PPFA’s web server infrastructure, including compliance management, network, security, and server design.
- Architect the behavior of complex infrastructure systems.
- Define the infrastructure technology stack, standards, and best practices.
- Manage the Infrastructure shared service supporting Web Development, Quality Assurance, Security, and Product teams.
- Establish strategies for ensuring high availability of mission-critical PPFA online properties.
- Develop configuration management automation strategy.
- Design infrastructure components to support high availability strategy, including virtual machine, container, network, security, and high availability architecture.
- Design multi-availability failover and cluster strategies.
- Manage and perform security audits and remediations.
- Implement proactive security measures.
- Manage security access controls, DNS, and Logging services.
- Co-govern the Infrastructure team portfolio, define the team roadmap, and set priorities for project delivery.
- Provide Level 3 issue resolution support.
- Ensure all AZ Deployments are in sync.
- Ensure request routing aligns with performance strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- Professional experience implementing nontrivial applications in Python, Typescript, and Bash.
- Experience with compliance requirements and industry standards such as HIPAA, PCI, NIST, CIS, OWASP.
- Strong Linux System Administration skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tooling and server patch management.
- 5+ years experience using Jenkins, Github, AWS, ECS, Nginx, Docker, PgSQL, Elasticache, Opensearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Tenable, Splunk, SaltStack, Terraform.
- 5+ years experience with System Hardening Regimes and Techniques, and IDP/IDS tools like Palo Alto.
