About the Role

The Beverage Bartender (primary position) is responsible for providing friendly, excellent service to every customer who approaches the bar while preparing and pouring drinks. The secondary position, Beverage Shift Manager, oversees all aspects of the administration and daily operations of the SARC Beverage department, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare drinks with proper portions and ingredients.
  • Mix drinks and collect payment from guests.
  • Count bank at the beginning and end of shift, completing paperwork.
  • Take beverage orders from customers.
  • Clean bar area, including wiping down the bar and picking up trash.
  • Restock supplies during slow periods.
  • Lift bar top or bend under to access the area behind the bar.
  • Work within a narrow space behind the bar.
  • Address guests with a pleasant nature at all times.
  • Acquire knowledge of the casino layout and provide directions.
  • Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons.
  • Communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
  • Attend all necessary meetings.
  • Manage and supervise all Beverage operations and employees when the Beverage Manager is not on premises.
  • Handle administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll, filling, personnel maintenance, and HR issues for Beverage and Remote Outlets.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and work schedules.
  • Evaluate staff performance on a ninety-day and annual basis.
  • Conduct regular cover count, check average, food and beverage costs, and projection analysis.
  • Implement the Food and Beverage Procedures.
  • Operate and run multi-unit operations.
  • Assist with hiring, training, recognition, coaching, terminations, and other personnel-related issues.
  • Communicate regularly with the Food & Beverage Management team and keep them informed on all casino and Food and Beverage activities and events.
  • Communicate regularly with employees and keep them informed on all casino activities and events.
  • Advise the Beverage & Remote Outlet Manager of daily problems and needs.
  • Utilize all available resources to maximize profits.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Adhere to TIPS Certification and Alcohol Awareness policy.
  • Ensure compliance with liquor laws and all requirements associated with the property’s liquor license.
  • Settle all disputes with customers, employees, and supervisors.
  • Cooperate with the Seneca Gaming Authority to ensure proper compliance with all rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate leadership, fairness, and sensibility to customers and employees.
  • Must possess the ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in subordinate employees.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the Food and Beverage department and the Casino for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to thirty pounds.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment.
  • Effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
