About the Role
As an Independent Living Assessor, you’ll be a key part of our mission to help adults stay safe, supported, and confident in their day-to-day lives, ensuring every resident gets the care, support, and respect they need to live as independently as possible.
Responsibilities
- Carry out basic assessments of people's capabilities.
- Help individuals find the motivation and support to progress.
- Deliver person-centred care by understanding individuals' specific circumstances.
- Manage a caseload of service users.
- Recommend equipment for service users.
- Set and monitor goals for service users.
- Complete Care Act 2014 assessments.
- Assist with screening referrals.
- Answer phones as part of the duty rota.
- Offer Carers Assessments to those supporting loved ones.
- Identify and follow up on safeguarding concerns in line with procedures.
- Collaborate with health and care professionals, including GPs, district nurses, occupational therapists, and physios, to ensure joined-up, holistic support.
Requirements
- Experience supporting adults in a care, housing, or community setting (e.g., support worker, carer, or housing officer).
- Understanding of working with vulnerable people.
- Calm, practical, and compassionate approach.
- Organized and confident working independently.
- Skilled at juggling priorities.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong communication skills, especially with adults from diverse cultures, languages, and backgrounds.
- Ability to listen.
- Understanding of what good care looks like.
- Commitment to helping people live well.
- An enhanced DBS with Adults Barred List is required.

Salary/Compensations
- New hires will start at the minimum of the advertised salary range.
- Employees receive annual salary increases until they reach the top of the pay scale.
