About the Role
As a Senior Planner at Spark, you will be an important member of the Strategy team, driving measurable business outcomes through meaningful human insights. Your key skills will include deep analytical abilities, math proficiency, creativity, a solid understanding of consumer behavior, strong negotiation skills, and great attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze marketing, industry, and human insights data to determine client advertising and media needs.
- Develop a firm understanding of marketing objectives, strategies, and the human-product/media relationship.
- Develop understanding of the client's business and competitive landscape.
- Assist in developing budget allocations across media for strategic and effective media plans.
- Present plans to the client brand group with assistance from senior media team members.
- Clearly communicate media objectives, strategies, and executional guidelines to execution teams.
- Work closely with agency partners.
- Maintain strong relationships with media suppliers and stay abreast of market conditions.
- Ensure campaign quality control and adherence to media plan objectives, including online campaigns.
- Utilize syndicated media, research, and other data resources.
- Take an active role in educating clients on the evolution of the media landscape.
- Actively participate in internal and external status meetings.
- Develop or assist with the development of POVs.
- Actively participate in the financial process, including data collection, input, and ensuring accurate and timely monthly billing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in advertising, marketing, business administration, or communications.
- 3+ years of experience in a Media Strategy role.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating.
- Ability to work successfully within a team, handle a high volume workload, and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in math.
- Ability to effectively utilize media research and reporting resources.
- Technical proficiency with media systems and MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
