About the Role

Guardian Service Industries is seeking a Floater Security Guard in NY to ensure the safety and security of buildings. This role involves interacting with residents, managing requests, monitoring security, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Positively interact with residents, guests, and vendors while assisting with day-to-day requests and resolving complaints
• Communicate with building management and other staff to ensure smooth daily operations
• Log and keep track of both concierge and building keys for resident use or move-in/move outs
• Maintain safety and security of the building, including monitoring security cameras, responding to emergencies and concerns promptly and efficiently, and exercising great judgement including escalating issues immediately
• Handle package deliveries, including logging and distributing, as well as external vendor deliveries
• Maintain accurate and complete shift logs ensuring proper "handover" for successful communication through shift changes
• Conduct patrol of the site interior and perimeter to identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions
• Evaluate situations and make logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work
• Coordinate expedient responses to emergency conditions, including fires, safety hazards and threats to life and/or property
• Handle undesired conduct, violations of building policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of guests, employees, patrons and property
• Maintain surveillance and reporting of any suspicious persons and/or packages
• Execute a number of comprehensive and integrated security measures and countermeasures
• Adapt physically to the changing needs and priorities of the site

Requirements

• Must be able to adapt physically and to the changing needs and priorities of the site
• Upon hire, employees must successfully pass a background check
• Valid Security Guard License, as dictated by state legislation
• 8 hour + 16 hour certificates
• Fire Guards: FO1, FO3, & FO4
