About the Role
The Nurse Practitioner will deliver comprehensive sexual health, HIV prevention, and STI care at an AHF Wellness Center. This role involves evaluating symptoms, interpreting labs, treating STIs, managing PrEP care, and initiating Rapid ART (Rapid Start) for newly diagnosed HIV clients. The Nurse Practitioner will also coordinate warm handoffs to AHF Healthcare Centers and act as a passionate advocate for clients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive sexual health, HIV prevention, and STI care.
- Evaluate symptoms and interpret labs.
- Treat STIs in a timely manner.
- Manage PrEP care, including same-day starts when appropriate.
- Initiate antiretroviral therapy (ART) on the same day of an HIV diagnosis, as clinically indicated.
- Order baseline labs for new HIV diagnoses.
- Ensure streamlined results review and follow-up within 24-48 hours.
- Coordinate warm handoffs and timely transitions to HIV primary care at an AHF Healthcare Center.
- Support clients from starter packs to their first comprehensive HIV care visit.
- Act as a passionate advocate for clients.
