About the Role
FoxWoods Home Care is seeking dedicated Companion aides to provide quality, compassionate care for seniors living on their campuses. The role offers meaningful work, a supportive team environment, and opportunities for training and growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship through conversation, reading, and active listening.
- Engage clients in recreational activities and hobbies for social stimulation.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
- Perform light housekeeping duties (dusting, sweeping, mopping).
- Assist with laundry and linens (washing, folding, ironing).
- Provide transportation and additional assistance (appointments, shopping, social visits, other errands) using the resident’s vehicle.
- Plan and prepare meals based on dietary needs/instructions and preferences.
- Assist with personal care supervision (bathing, toileting, dressing).
- Monitor and report changes in client condition or behavior.
- Accurately document services provided according to company policies.
Requirements
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess a compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
