About the Role

The Manager, Scholar Admissions plays a critical role in growing and strengthening SEO Scholars by developing data-informed recruitment strategies, building school and community partnerships, and leading the admissions process. This role combines strategy, customer service, data analysis, and operations to ensure SEO reaches and enrolls high-potential students while providing an exceptional experience for applicants and families.

Responsibilities

  • Track, analyze, and report on recruitment and admissions metrics to monitor progress toward enrollment goals and identify trends.
  • Prepare weekly reports, dashboards, and materials for leadership data meetings to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with recruitment leadership to develop and refine data-driven recruitment strategies.
  • Manage the NYC admissions inbox and Interest Form inquiries, ensuring timely, professional communication with students, families, and school partners.
  • Manage Salesforce and other recruitment systems to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable data.
  • Coordinate Interview Days and other recruitment logistics while continuously improving recruitment processes and systems.
  • Execute comprehensive recruitment strategies to build a strong, diverse applicant pipeline.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other external stakeholders throughout New York City.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with school partners, recruitment presentations, workshops, and outreach events.
  • Represent SEO at school visits, community events, and information sessions, delivering engaging presentations to students, families, and educators.
  • Oversee the admissions process by reviewing applications, recommending candidates for interviews, facilitating selection discussions, and ensuring a smooth, equitable experience from application through enrollment.
  • Maintain accurate Scholar and program data to support advising, interventions, and program planning.
  • Generate weekly reports to support Program Managers in monitoring Scholar progress.
  • Track intervention efforts and analyze outcomes to support Scholar success.
  • Ensure timely distribution of report cards, progress reports, and other Scholar communications.
  • Support program operations and facilitate programming when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or enrollment is required.
  • Experience with NYC high school and/or college admissions is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Highly data-oriented with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to timely, responsive communication.
  • Experience using data to develop recruitment strategies and inform decision-making.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, reporting, and data analysis skills required.
  • Demonstrated success managing recruitment, admissions, or outreach processes using CRM and data management systems, including Salesforce.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage students, families, educators, and community partners.
  • Strong relationship-building and partnership management skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple ongoing projects, with the ability to collaborate and work independently toward programmatic goals when needed.
  • Passion for expanding educational opportunities and advancing educational equity.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is highly preferred; additional language skills are welcome.
