About the Role
The New York Times advertising department is seeking a Manager of Measurement Analytics to transform data into compelling narratives that explain the value of our platform and products, focusing on campaign performance. This role will analyze audience and ad products to support Sales, Strategy, and Product teams. It is a hybrid role based in New York, requiring approximately 3 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in the full suite of NYT research capabilities and measurement products.
- Lead meta-analyses merging first-party and third-party data sources to create narratives about The New York Times advertising platform and its audience.
- Monitor key datasets to identify trends, package insights, and communicate findings to support go-to-market strategies and client conversations.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear insights for technical and non-technical partners, including senior leadership.
- Perform ad hoc analysis using data tools and 3rd party datasets to answer critical business questions.
- Serve as a consultative partner to Analytics teams, providing user feedback to guide the design of data dashboards and tools.
- Contribute to the development of new measurement capabilities, metrics, and frameworks for advertising products.
- Demonstrate support and understanding of journalistic independence and the company's mission.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, media insights, ad tech, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience fielding measurement analysis and understanding performance reporting solutions (e.g., Brand Lift studies, Content Evaluation, Sales Lift, Incrementality, MTA).
- Experience with measurement and audience activation using data clean room solutions (e.g., LiveRamp, Snowflake).
- Experience translating complex data into applicable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience working directly with sales or client-facing teams.
