Responsibilities
- Maintain adherence to posted schedule and proper procedures for time off and call-outs.
- Ensure accurate time-clock procedures for hours worked.
- Report to work in a clean and professional uniform.
- Adhere to all guidelines for safe food handling, HACCP, and general sanitation.
- Demonstrate customer service skills, treating all customers, visitors, and co-workers with courtesy and respect.
- Handle customer issues professionally and strive for customer satisfaction.
- Prepare food products meeting standards for quantity, quality, and presentation.
- Ensure all work areas and equipment are clean and sanitized.
- Properly label, date, and rotate all stored product.
- Assist in inventory, ordering, and receiving of food products.
- Interact with residents, coworkers, and supervisors in a professional manner.
- Utilize and direct utility staff efficiently.
- Accept critiques and suggestions professionally for improvement.
- Make recommendations regarding the menu and new food products.
- Report safety issues and equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Ensure proper safe food handling and hand washing procedures are followed.
- Attend all mandatory in-services, obligations, and meetings.
- Function in other dining services department roles as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide care and services demonstrating person-centered care principles.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of Culinary program recommended.
- 1-3 years of experience in the kitchen.
- Sanitation certification preferred.
- Knowledge of food sanitation requirements and regulations.
- Knowledge of culinary terms and procedures.
