About the Role
Hamilton Families' Housing Services program prevents family homelessness and facilitates rapid re-housing into permanent housing. The Eviction Prevention Coordinator oversees Homelessness Prevention programs, ensuring timely assessments for prevention and rental subsidy programs. This role involves approving families, managing documentation, explaining program decisions, and liaising with community partners.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure the on-going development and daily operation of the Homelessness Assistance Programs in coordination with the Manager.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of new programming and support services.
- Work closely with the Real Estate and Eviction Prevention Manager on organizational activities and special projects.
- Directly supervise Homelessness Prevention Specialist (Case Manager) staff, including regular supervision meetings, record maintenance, performance reviews, and accountability for goals.
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and training efforts for services staff.
- Develop and conduct new-hire onboarding and ongoing training for housing services program staff.
- Provide solutions to challenging participant/service issues and guide staff learning.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, file maintenance, correspondence, and data collection.
- Respond to inquiries and requests for information from stakeholders.
- Maintain positive participant relations.
- Develop a work environment focused on customer service, diversity, respect, and dignity.
- Provide staff leadership and guidance for positive participant experiences.
- Conduct database and participant hard file audits for quality assurance across multiple databases.
- Assist in creating streamlined processes for seamless service delivery.
- Facilitate regular department and program coordination meetings.
- Attend other program, organizational, and community meetings as assigned.
- Maintain and promote a cooperative, harmonious, teamwork environment.
- Facilitate and monitor the recruitment and referral process for the HPA ERAP program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two years of professional experience in human services or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise appropriate authority and sound judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with demanding deadlines.
- Superior organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a quality workplace in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Ability to plan and implement innovative programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Consistent approach to upholding program and personnel policies and procedures.
- Ability to coordinate, implement, assist in, supervise, and evaluate program activities and diverse staff.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups.
- Ability to provide supervision of staff in a compassionate and innovative way.
- Familiarity with principles, practices, and techniques of local, state, and federal contract management, negotiation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care and Harm Reduction philosophies.
- Highly organized; ability to work independently and as an effective and collaborative team member.
- Able to make regular entries, run reports, and maintain a CRM client database.
- Good meeting facilitation skills.
- Essential job functions include using a telephone, working at a standard computer terminal, ability to follow ergonomic accommodations, sit and stand for long intervals, reach, bend, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds, and walk up and down stairs several times a day.
- Criminal background check, fingerprint imaging, TB clearance, and documentation required post offer.
