About the Role
Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) is seeking an Assistant Clubhouse Director (ACD) to provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of Club operations, facilities, programs, vehicles, and volunteer management. The ACD works alongside the Clubhouse Director to drive organizational strategy while ensuring safety, risk management, and strong community relationships.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and mentor 3–5 direct reports providing high-quality youth services.
- Develop daily program schedules aligned with BGCSF’s strategic plan and optimize existing programming.
- Co-develop and manage the annual budget alongside the Clubhouse Director.
- Maintain active leadership presence during peak program and pick-up times, ensuring lobby safety and strong community relations.
- Manage daily program sign-in records and facilitate staff meeting agendas.
- Conduct daily facility walk-throughs and maintenance assessments to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Log equipment issues in the facility management system and enforce closing, safe-ratio, and vehicle maintenance protocols.
- Support the Clubhouse Director in developing facility use agreements, rentals, and partnership MOUs.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, leadership, parents, youth, neighbors, and community partners.
- Lead Clubhouse volunteer management in coordination with Club staff and BGCSF’s Volunteer Manager.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of leadership experience at a large youth-serving non-profit with success in staff management, operations, and community relations.
- Thorough understanding of non-profit operations, youth development, asset management, and risk management best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership skills including negotiation, problem-solving, delegation, and decision-making.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to plan, direct, and coordinate operations.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
- Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.
- BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
