About the Role
The Avison Young Capital Markets Hotel & Hospitality team is recruiting an analyst/junior broker. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with senior brokers for career progression and contribute to the team's success.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate hotel investments, build operating cash flow models, conduct market research, and prepare investment memos.
- Support acquisitions, asset management, and underwriting by analyzing operating data, debt terms, and hotel industry performance metrics.
- Build and maintain detailed discounted cash flow models (DCF) for hotel property acquisitions and developments.
- Analyze historical hotel operating statements, revenue data, and expenses to forecast future performance.
- Study local hospitality markets, supply pipelines, and tourism trends to support investment assumptions.
- Write clear investment committee presentations and reports summarizing deal risks and returns.
- Support transaction teams by reviewing third-party reports, franchise agreements, and loan documents.
- Assist in business development and publications.
- Attend ad hoc client meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, hospitality management, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of financial analysis experience, ideally within hospitality.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
- Familiarity with hotel metrics.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Deep knowledge of the hotel sector.
- Real Estate Development and Real Estate Financial Modelling.
- Excellent communication and client interfacing skills.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Highly motivated and ambitious to succeed.
- IT literate.
- Must confirm the right to work in the UK.
