About the Role
The Financial Analyst will support the CBS News, Stations, and CBS Media Venture (CMV) Digital division, assisting in forecast and budget accuracy, performance tracking, monthly operating expense management, and data analysis for informed decision-making. This role offers exemplary exposure within a growing global media organization to evolving streaming platforms and contributes to optimizing financial performance through quantitative and qualitative analyses.
Responsibilities
- Manage forecasting of the monthly P&L and drive the annual budget and financial plans for CBS News, Stations, and CMV Digital Properties.
- Work with Accounting in preparation for monthly close.
- Manage month-end accruals, contracts, and invoices.
- Expense management, risk analysis, and mitigation.
- Actively monitor expense levers and cost controls to maintain profitability and achieve budgeted profit targets.
- Collaborate with Inventory & Pricing, Business Intelligence, Business Development, and Production teams to gain insights impacting the forecast.
- Prepare financial data and various requests as needed, providing actionable analysis for internal review and decision-making.
- Deliver strategic, financial, and operational insights aligned with business goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2+ years of work experience in finance, accounting, or similar quantitative role.
- Media, entertainment, and/or technology experience is a plus.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace suite skills, particularly Excel/Sheets and Powerpoint/Slides.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
- Willingness and quick ability to learn new software.
- Advanced knowledge in Oracle Financials is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to handle and synthesize large datasets to deliver critical insights in an easy-to-digest format for management and external partners.
