About the Role

The CT Technologist is responsible for the efficient operation of CT scanners, organizing and performing computed tomography examinations efficiently and professionally. They will position patients for high-quality images, operate equipment safely, follow radiation protection guidelines, practice sterile techniques when required, and perform clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Organize and perform computed tomography examinations efficiently and professionally.
• Position the patient to obtain high-quality images.
• Operate equipment safely while following radiation protection guidelines.
• Practice sterile techniques when required.
• Perform clerical duties related to the handling of the customer.
• Travel to other sites may be required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology.
• Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification.
• Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NSRMIRT) licensure.
• CT experience preferred.
• IV experience preferred or willing to be trained in intravenous injection and will be required to use a contrast injector.
• A high degree of mental, visual, and manual dexterity is required.
• Works independently and as a healthcare team member to ensure exceptional patient care.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resume must be up to date and include all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.

Skills

• CAMRT CT courses or CT Imaging Certificate an asset
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

• Eastern Zone, Cape Breton Regional Hospital

• Call and shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends
