Responsibilities
- Sort and prepare mail for delivery.
- Load and drive a Canada Post vehicle.
- Deliver packages to customers outdoors.
- Use portable communication devices (two-way radio, text messaging, PDT).
- Represent Canada Post professionally.
- Ensure the security of mail items and Canada Post equipment.
- Drive a vehicle safely.
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record and appropriate provincial driver's license class.
- Lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry mail items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb).
- Work safely in all weather conditions (snow, rain, hail, ice, etc.).
Requirements
- Possess a valid Class 5 or G driver's license with a good driving record for at least three years.
- Customer service experience is an asset.
- Delivery experience or experience operating a vehicle is an asset.
- Must pass a pre-employment interview and physical assessment test.
- Must successfully complete two consecutive weeks of mandatory training (Monday to Friday).
- Must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.
- Must be available to work on holidays (including the day before and the day after).
