About the Role

Responsibilities
- Sort and prepare the day's deliveries at the depot.
- Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
- Deliver packages to customers on route, spending most of the day outdoors.
- Operate portable communication devices (two-way radios/texting, PDT's).
- Represent Canada Post in a professional manner.
- Maintain and safeguard all mail items and Canada Post property.
- Operate a vehicle in a satisfactory safe manner.
- Maintain a satisfactory safe driving record and the appropriate class of provincial driver's license.
- Lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 pounds).
- Carry mail items weighing up to 15.9 kilograms (35 pounds).
- Work safely in all outdoor elements (snow, rain, hail, icy conditions, etc.).
Requirements
- A valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required).
- Experience in customer service is an asset.
- Experience in a delivery and/or driving role is an asset.
- Must pass an interview.
- Must pass a Pre-Employment Physical assessment.
- Must pass a step van driving test.
- Availability required for Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
- May be required to work Statutory holidays (including the day before and after).
- Will be required to successfully complete mandatory 2 consecutive weeks of training (Monday to Friday).
- Applicants residing within a 50 km radius of the work location are preferred.
