About the Role
As a senior leader in the Conversational AI team, you will shape the future of customer interaction with the bank by designing and delivering scalable, reusable AI architectures. You will define technical direction, guide architecture decisions, and translate strategic priorities into an AI roadmap. Additionally, you will build capability by coaching a team of AI Engineers and leading the development of reusable AI platforms. Applied research and experimentation will be key to evaluating new technologies and maintaining the organization's edge in Conversational AI innovation.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable, reusable architectures for high-volume customer engagement.
- Define technical direction across multiple products, ensuring alignment with platform strategy, enterprise architecture, engineering standards, and responsible AI commitments.
- Act as the leading technical authority for complex AI engineering challenges.
- Guide architecture decisions, review solution designs, and influence implementation approaches.
- Translate strategic priorities into an ambitious Conversational AI roadmap.
- Build capability and create an environment where talented engineers can thrive.
- Coach and develop a high-performing team of AI Engineers.
- Lead the development of reusable AI capabilities and platforms.
- Evaluate new technologies, identify high-potential use cases, and ensure the organization remains at the leading edge of Conversational AI innovation.
Requirements
- Recognized expertise in GenAI and Agentic AI technology.
- Experience creating novel solutions to real-world problems.
- Experience successfully delivering AI systems to production.
- Strong experience in NLP technologies such as generative AI, AI agents, chatbots, language models, transformers, vector stores, and search algorithms.
- Experience in building and extending full conversational AI architecture from front end experience through AI services to back end system integrations.
- Experience in understanding and applying ethical AI standards.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts simply to senior leaders and partner teams.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment.
- Experience managing reliability, security, safety, and explainability risks.
- Line management experience in coaching various levels of technical staff.
- A relentless passion to learn more about AI and its real-world applications at scale.
