About the Role
Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the CAO building, ensuring sanitary conditions and performing general repairs.
Responsibilities
- Maintains sanitary conditions in and around the facility(s)
- Monitor and clean up debris outside of building as needed
- Maintain the heating system at the center
- Makes repairs and maintenance work requiring handyman abilities including painting, simple carpentry and plumbing
- Keeps housekeeping inventory
- Cooperates with staff on all housekeeping details
- Reports any serious maintenance and repair needs to supervisor
- Model positive work ethic for staff
Requirements
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to be flexible
- Ability to carry out oral and written directions
- Dependability and good physical condition
- Ability to be a team player
- Experience in janitorial work
- Ability to learn handyman skills that would involve carpentry and plumbing
- New York State driver’s license is required
- Completion of the CAO of Erie County, Inc., application form
