About the Role
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking a full-time Data Scientist to join the Data Analytics team. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and usability of property and real estate reference data, powering ICE's Fixed Income and Data Services products. The Data Scientist will also contribute to enterprise AI and machine learning initiatives within ICE's AI Center of Excellence, working across the full data lifecycle from profiling to production support. The ideal candidate is an adaptable generalist comfortable with data operations and model development, possessing strong statistical judgment and ownership of recurring deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Own, validate, and maintain recurring production data feeds and aggregated property and real estate datasets, confirming data quality before delivery.
- Build, modernize, and automate SQL and Databricks (Spark) workloads, converting legacy processes into production-grade automated jobs.
- Plan and execute data migration and platform rollout testing, quantifying differences and assessing impact.
- Develop, validate, and interpret statistical and predictive models, and create visualizations for insights.
- Contribute to enterprise AI and machine learning initiatives, including prototyping and productionizing models and generative AI solutions.
- Partner with data engineering, product, and client-facing teams to move data into production and translate business requirements.
- Communicate methods, findings, and limitations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Document workflows and data definitions, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- Advanced degree preferred (MS or PhD) in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python (or R) with core data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
- Advanced SQL for profiling, complex joins, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark, including building and maintaining production jobs.
- Solid grounding in data quality, validation, and reconciliation, including record matching or entity resolution.
- Experience preparing and delivering recurring data products to clients.
- Familiarity with machine learning and generative AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, LLM tooling).
- Working knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with big data formats (Parquet), data engineering, version control, and CI/CD tools (Airflow, Git).
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in an applied, agile research and development environment is a plus.
