About the Role
As a Fire Service Supervisor, you will lead a field service team that delivers high-quality, on-time service while supporting safety, customer satisfaction, and service growth. This role is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing field service technicians so work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will balance team leadership, customer communication, dispatch coordination, and operational follow-through to keep service commitments on track and identify opportunities to grow the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of field service technicians through goal setting, one-on-one coaching, performance reviews, training, and mentorship.
- Plan, prioritize, and dispatch service calls in partnership with coordinators to optimize routing, workload, and response times.
- Build strong customer relationships that support customer satisfaction, retention, and service growth opportunities.
- Promote a strong safety culture by supporting safety training, job hazard analysis, incident investigations, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Track and report service metrics such as response time, first-time fix rate, backlog, and on-time completion, then act on the results.
- Ensure service documentation, work orders, and reporting are accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
- Manage resources to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support service profitability.
- Collaborate with sales, installation, engineering, and operations teams to resolve escalations and deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity by setting clear expectations and following through on service quality, team leadership, and customer commitments.
- Focus on what matters by staying close to the work, removing obstacles for technicians and customers, and keeping priorities aligned to service needs.
- Improve every day by using performance data, candid coaching, and practical problem-solving to strengthen delivery and reduce recurring issues.
- Win as one team by building trust across sales, installation, engineering, operations, and field service so customers experience consistent support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in Fire systems/services/building automation, field service, maintenance, or a related technical environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Excellent communication, coaching, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, data reporting, and basic analytics tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel locally to customer sites.
- Ability to work in field environments, perform physical tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs.
