About the Role

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the implementation of sustainability initiatives to achieve cost savings.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement sustainability projects.
• Foster a proactive facility management culture through effective use of monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Maintain an updated initiatives tracker, including savings type, estimates, and status.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sustainability metrics.
• Promote continuous improvement in sustainability practices across the organization.
• Support buildings and systems management operations in the most energy efficient way.
• Complete Energy Management Checklist and periodic reports.
• Train all employees on Corporate Environmental Sustainability goals.
• Drive sustainability mindset in day-to-day work.
• Manage site environmental data collection for corporate ESG Reporting.
• Provide data feed required for external reporting.
• Report on sustainability program strategy, management, and performance to site, sponsors, and corporate CoEs.
• Escalate gaps, corporate team support needs, and changes in scope & resources.
• Provide quarterly reports on trends, technology, & regulations.
• Pursue local / national certifications or awards for program recognition.
• Develop employee education materials and conduct onsite employee engagement events.
• Manage sustainability communications.
• Manage the Energy Program.
• Support US DoE 50001 Readiness.
• Establish Energy Performance Indicators (EnPI) around significant energy users.
• Perform Measurement & Data Analysis.
• Complete / update Low Carbon Transition Playbook.
• Conduct technical site energy assessments (e.g., Energy Kaizen, Energy Audit, Gemba Walks).
• Ideate projects and manage the pipeline, coordinating project entry into the corporate platform with site stakeholders.
• Optimize the rebate process.
• Perform sustainability analysis and identify alternatives for project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Sustainability Design Standards (STD-D123), PA111, and rebate requirements.
• Oversee measurement and verification of savings for energy projects.
• Optimize rebates for energy projects.
• Fulfill sustainability reporting requirements for energy projects.
• Ideate and execute energy projects driven by environmental sustainability.
• Mitigate and improve efficiency through energy projects.
• Collect and analyze electricity, natural gas, water, and other bills/data.
• Facilitate relevant data entry.
• Optimize utility bills.
• Perform analytics on energy data.
• Manage energy procurement.
• Develop budgets and forecast energy volume.
• Identify Scope 3 reduction projects to achieve a 30% reduction by 2030.
• Execute Scope 3 reduction projects.
• Measure and verify reduction/savings for Scope 3 projects.
• Fulfill sustainability reporting requirements for Scope 3 projects.
• Report CO2 emissions generated by services provided in the system as directed by corporate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sustainability or a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and report on sustainability metrics.
• Proficiency in energy monitoring systems software and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience with CO2 emission tracking and reporting.
• Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and cost-saving measures.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and best practices.
• LEED Green Associate certification.
• Certified Energy Manager certification.
