About the Role
Carnegie Hall Ushers are part of a dedicated team providing world-class customer service and support throughout a performance. Reporting to the Front-of-House Manager, we are seeking proactive and enthusiastic individuals to represent Carnegie Hall by ensuring an extraordinary experience with dedicated assistance and by minimizing disturbances.
Responsibilities
- Assist guests with exceptional service
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team friendly workplace where safety, professionalism, and collaboration are valued
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of Carnegie Hall’s facilities and events
- Build strong working relationships with union supervisors through open and professional communication, following daily assignments, and meeting performance expectations
- Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to ongoing operational needs, including overtime or schedule adjustments when required
- Report to work on time and be prepared for each scheduled shift to ensure smooth daily operations
- Follow all safety policies and best practices
- Stand for extended periods of time as well as climbing and descending stairs regularly in the performance of job duties
- Lift program boxes and other supplies as needed
- Work a flexible schedule including matinees, evening performances, and holidays
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer service setting
- A strong commitment to providing great service
- Professional demeanor and good judgment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive work-ethic
- An appreciation of music with knowledge of classical music a plus
- Ability to speak multiple languages is encouraged
