About the Role
Responsibility to provide P&I claims handling service and advice to the Club’s cruise and ferry membership. The role is based within the Americas Syndicate with a dedicated team that looks after the Club’s passenger ship Members based in North America and Europe with ships trading worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Handle assigned claims in accordance with company procedures.
- Provide advice on claims related issues.
- Identify the need for loss prevention activity.
- Promote the relationship between the Club and existing Members.
- Ensure all electronic correspondence relating to claim files is promptly and correctly filed.
- Maintain and update e-files.
- Contribute to the continuous development of company procedures and systems.
- Produce relevant articles for inclusion in Club publications.
- Support the underwriting objectives for the Syndicate.
- Attend appropriate training and develop relevant knowledge and skills.
- Carry out any other duties within the scope of personal skills and abilities.
- Carry out any other ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Experience handling personal injury matters at another P&I Club, insurer, law firm or ship owner.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent written skills.
- Highly organised, enthusiastic with excellent attention to detail and prioritising individual workload.
- Ability to work with people at all levels and within a small team.
