About the Role
Welcome Center Representatives maintain a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. They respond to member and guest needs and promote memberships and programs.
Responsibilities
- Greets all individuals, responding to their needs.
- Checks in, screens, and performs temperature checks for members and guests.
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants, contributing to member retention.
- Maintains cleanliness, sanitization, and organization of the Welcome Center area, ensuring all forms, supplies, and merchandise are stocked.
- Sells memberships, highlighting their benefits.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members, facilitating connections.
- Intentionally welcomes, connects, and supports members, inviting them to get involved and give back.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns, informing supervisors of unusual situations.
- Conducts all frontline financial transactions.
- Applies and enforces all YMCA policies related to member services.
- Completes filing, paperwork, and other tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
- Work history demonstrating strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliable attendance.
- CPR/AED Certifications required within 30 days of hire (covered by YMCA if not certified).
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
- Basic knowledge of computers and computer applications.
