About the Role

Ryder is hiring a NON CDL Truck Driver in Rochester, NY, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Drivers are the Captain, making safety decisions with protected jobs. Ryder supports drivers with well-maintained, safe trucks and 24/7 roadside maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within a 200 air mile radius of Rochester NY.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards.
• Maintaining accurate records.
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Must have verifiable driving experience in like equipment if operating a straight truck or box truck: 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures.
• Candidates possessing a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.
