About the Role
As the Senior Maintenance Operations Manager, you will be responsible for material-handling equipment and building the internal maintenance function at a new hybrid fulfillment center in Falkensee, Berlin. You will serve as the central point of contact between automated and manual processes, operational teams, and your maintenance team, ensuring stable operations, efficient troubleshooting, and continuous optimization of the equipment landscape.
Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a team of technicians and engineers.
- Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure seamless integration of automated and manual processes.
- Develop the maintenance strategy with analysts to minimize downtime, optimize preventive maintenance, and make data-driven decisions.
- Manage contracts, performance metrics, and budgets, including those with external partners.
- Analyze major disruptions, identify root causes, and develop sustainable solutions.
- Plan inspections and preventive maintenance based on guidelines and system data.
- Support the establishment of a scalable maintenance organization and advise colleagues at other locations.
Requirements
- Completed apprenticeship, further training as a master craftsman or technician, and/or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, mechatronics, automation).
- 8+ years of professional experience in maintenance or technical project management in intralogistics (e.g., conveyor technology, AGVs, robotics).
- 3-4 years of experience in motivating and retaining a team.
- Ability to quickly grasp numerical information and identify potential problems.
- Hands-on mentality to implement ideas and lead by example.
- Fluent German and very good English language skills.
