About the Role
Responsible for managing larger and most complex middle market and corporate credits, ensuring portfolio soundness, profitability, and growth. Provides credit and sales support to Corporate Banking.
Responsibilities
- Support Corporate Bankers in managing existing and developing new client relationships
- Assist Corporate Banking team in deal qualification assessment, due diligence, and loan structuring
- Understand complex transactions and related risk (credit, market, operations, legal/compliance, etc.)
- Lead the underwriting of complex deal structures through the credit approval process
- Partner with team in reviewing and negotiating loan documents and engaging counsel as needed
- Conduct portfolio reviews and continuous portfolio monitoring for assigned portfolio
- Provide training and coaching of portfolio managers and underwriters
- Coordinate with internal partners & internal discussions (credit discussions, screens, etc.)
- Special projects as needed

Requirements
- Must be able to identify risks inherent in complex loan transactions and address/mitigate accordingly
- Must possess an extensive knowledge of various loan structures and formulate sound credit recommendations
- Must possess a disciplined approach to managing a portfolio of middle market/corporate banking accounts
- Must possess a proficient knowledge of credit policy, banking regulations, and loan documentation issues
- Must understand and work effectively within the credit culture of the company
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from internal clients, regulatory agencies, and employees
- Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies
- Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations

Location
- Some travel between Third Coast Bank offices may be required

Experience Level
- 10+ years’ work experience related to various aspects of middle market and corporate banking
- Minimum of ten (10) years Portfolio Manager experience in Middle Market
Education Level
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
