About the Role

Provide operational, technical, and job setup tasks for injection molding operations through hands-on and instructional training. This role requires the ability to complete job functions efficiently using acquired training.

Responsibilities

• Perform Dailies according to Daily Checklists.
• Complete full product changeovers according to the changeover outline.
• Follow step-by-step instructions for changeovers.
• Complete changeovers with minimal need for reassessment.
• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Identify components and their roles during machine operation.
• Identify and correct root causes of issues to avoid changing the qualified process.
• Address issues with minimal need for reassessment.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of hydraulic/electrical controls and components.
• Understand and explain components associated with mold, carriage, and blow pin movement.
• Set up and troubleshoot downstream equipment including conveyors, grinders, leak checks, vision systems, orientation bowls, and material loading systems.
• Follow OSHA, ISO, and FDA requirements and standards during production and troubleshooting.
• Complete all necessary paperwork.
• Monitor overall process performance.
• Apply basic molecular theory concepts to achieve a repeatable process.
• Use concepts to explain processing issues.
• Apply concepts to achieve minimal downtime.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of quality requirements and Currier Plastics' goal of zero defects.
• Maintain up-and-running production processes.
• Complete thorough dailies.
• Maintain required ISO forms.
• Manage mold and process binders, master process sheets, and changeover WIs.
• Pursue full understanding and sign-offs on all topics within the Technician Trainee level 2 checklist.
• Participate in LEAN manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives (6S, setup reduction, PM, Kanban).
• Identify and address deficiencies.
• Ensure and maintain a safe work environment, including using LOTO and safety devices.
• Assist the maintenance team with rebuilds and PMs when requested.
• Provide assistance to the tool room and quality departments when requested.
• Assist with head, screw, and mold cleaning and maintenance when needed.
• Support setup reduction by working with the C/O team and performing external changeover responsibilities.
• Communicate with the quality department regarding current or potential issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience with hand tools required.
• Previous injection molding experience required.
• Contribute to the overall success of the company by performing all assigned duties in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
• Promote the Quality Improvement Process.
• Promote LEAN Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement initiatives.
