About the Role

FASNY is seeking a warm, engaged After School Counselor to support our after-school program for students in PreK through 3rd grade. This is an hourly, part-time position reporting to the After School Coordinator. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, brings energy and patience to a busy afternoon environment, and helps create a safe, fun, and enriching experience for students after the academic day ends.

Responsibilities

Supervise and engage students during after-school programming, including activities, snack time, and free play
Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students
Support daily attendance tracking and communicate with families as needed
Collaborate with the After School Coordinator and fellow counselors to plan and deliver activities
Follow all school health, safety, and supervision protocols
Assist with set-up and clean-up of activity spaces

Requirements

Experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting preferred
Patient, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of young children
Strong communication skills
French language skills a plus but not required
CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
Must be available: Monday–Friday, 3:00–6:00 PM
