About the Role
As a Store Manager I or II, you will gain supervisory experience managing overall operations at a low or lower complexity store. You will learn to drive success, understand business operations, and develop teams. This role requires performing all functions of a store team member and owning the business by driving sales, modeling service, and delivering operational excellence. These experiences will equip you for managing higher volume stores with larger teams.
Responsibilities
- Understand and model FedEx Office values to customers and team members.
- Coach and teach your team, ensuring they have the necessary tools and information to support company goals.
- Collaborate with your supervisor to create solutions for business, complex customers, host partnerships, and commercial sales.
- Ensure an exceptional store experience that engages and retains customers and team members, supporting the FedEx brand.
- Utilize FedEx Office tools to select, train, develop, retain, and performance manage direct reports.
- Interact with your supervisor for guidance, coaching, direction, and to escalate issues.
- Understand and execute operational and store sales activities to exceed financial and customer experience targets.
- Perform daily job duties including accounts receivable, inventory reports, daily sales recaps, and bank deposits.
- Take ownership of store controls, including Standard Operating Procedures, financials, safety, security, scheduling, and compliance.
- Utilize Quality Improvement tools to enhance the business, share ideas, and innovate.
- Be flexible with your schedule, as work hours are based on business needs and store operating hours.
- Perform other duties as needed or required.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED required.
- 2+ years of related experience (e.g., retail, service, hospitality, military).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to work alone in the store at times.
- Ability to stand during the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.
- Ability to move and lift 55 pounds.
- Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees on a consistent basis.
- Ability to travel as required for customer, vendor, or team member meetings, or other business necessities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members.
- Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction on a consistent basis.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities on a consistent basis.
- Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods on a consistent basis.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours on a consistent basis.
