About the Role

This role is crucial for providing customers with the highest quality service by ensuring the timely release and movement of freight/cargo through consistent customer service and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide impeccable customer service.
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, and clients in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay freight movement.
  • Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and other service providers to ensure service requirements are exceeded.
  • Resolve banking and letter of credit problems.
  • Advise customers on payment terms.
  • Obtain payment on delinquent accounts and complete accounting adjustment forms.
  • Resolve billing issues and coordinate post-entry activity.
  • Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files.
  • Perform root cause analysis as directed by the Account Administrator.
  • Coordinate post-entry activities on behalf of the customer.
  • Manage the entry verification process.
  • Access client systems as necessary.
  • Correspond with business partners via written, phone, or email.
  • Produce operational trend reports.
  • Keep business partners informed of the exception process.
  • Receive and respond to pre-alerts as needed per customer SOP.
  • Maintain general knowledge of FedEx products and services.
  • Interact with customers, internal staff/departments, and management.
  • Support Account Administrators with account management activities.
  • Perform entry reconciliation as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer's front-line personnel.
  • Facilitate entry processing and exception resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • 12 months of brokerage or transportation experience and/or customer service experience required.
  • MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment proficiency required.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Organizational Skills.
  • Inter-personal skills.
  • Problem solving Skills.
  • Ability to handle high volume of work.
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Knowledge in HTS classification & familiar with the harmonized tariff system.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations & other federal regulations and requirements.
