About the Role
As a Technical Deployment Lead, you will lead the delivery of custom AI agent solutions for enterprise customers in regulated industries, owning high-value engagements from SOW through production deployment. You will collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineers, owning product scoping, stakeholder management, value measurement, and the organizational complexity of deploying AI agents. You will also help build playbooks and define processes for scaling this emerging function, championing the mission, ensuring world-class delivery, and providing feedback to product and research teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical delivery plan for each engagement, structuring SOWs with clear scope, milestones, dependencies, success criteria, and value hypotheses.
- Translate customer business objectives into a sequenced roadmap for FDEs.
- Lead discovery by mapping customer workflows, identifying constraints, defining MVP scope, and shaping solution architecture.
- Run day-to-day engineering execution, driving delivery across Anthropic and customer teams, keeping progress unblocked, and making real-time trade-offs.
- Own product scoping for field engagements, defining the MVP, authoring requirements, prioritizing the backlog, and managing scope.
- Own the customer relationship throughout delivery, leading executive briefings, managing stakeholder communications, and representing Anthropic's technical credibility.
- Own value measurement and ROI, defining impact hypotheses, setting baselines and KPIs, running pre- and post-deployment measurement, and reporting outcomes.
- Codify reusable delivery assets by building solution patterns, evaluation frameworks, and playbooks, and feeding field signals back to Product and Research.
- Navigate enterprise and regulatory complexity, including security reviews, legal approvals, procurement processes, compliance requirements, and organizational dynamics.
- Manage scope and change by handling evolving requirements, setting expectations, negotiating contract modifications, identifying risks, and escalating with clear context.
- Run delivery operations, including sprint ceremonies, milestone reviews, and progress reporting.
- Travel to customer sites up to 25-50% to build relationships, unblock delivery, and accelerate adoption.
Requirements
- Led AI/ML engagements/deployments as a founder, data scientist, engineer, researcher, or in a professional services or consulting role.
- Delivered AI, ML, or LLM-based agentic solutions into production, understanding solution patterns, integration approaches, and common issues.
- Experience in a specialized vertical (life sciences, pharmaceutical, retail, mining, agriculture, etc.).
- Ability to navigate architecture discussions with engineering stakeholders, evaluate technical trade-offs, and pressure-test technical decisions.
- Track record of delivering complex, high-stakes technical projects for enterprise clients with tight coordination and fast decision-making, ideally in regulated industries.
- Executive presence with credibility to represent Anthropic to senior leaders.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and bring structure.
- Builder's mindset focused on creating a function.
