About the Role
This role is responsible for preparing and delivering meals and snacks to patients, stocking food supplies, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment within the Dietary department at Putnam Hospital Center.
Responsibilities
- Prepares cold food for patients.
- Delivers meals and snacks to the floors.
- Serves on the patient tray line.
- Stocks and restocks food for patients.
- Cleans and sanitizes work area.
- Reports to lead diet aide, supervisor, or manager.
- Works with all dietary and hospital staff members.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to make simple calculations.
- Prior foodservice experience is helpful.
- Stands and walks most of the day.
- Stoops, bends, and reaches.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to move portable kitchen equipment.
- Must be able to have hands in soapy warm water.
- Significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity.
- Significant occupational risk.
- May exert up to 35 lbs. force.
