About the Role

DigitalService GmbH is seeking a leader to co-manage the company with the CEO, taking full commercial responsibility for finances, controlling, and accounting. This role is crucial for driving the digital transformation of public administration by developing user-friendly, cloud-native digital solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Co-manage DigitalService GmbH with the CEO.
  • Assume commercial responsibility for finances, controlling, and accounting.
  • Establish, monitor, and adjust the overall budget.
  • Oversee the economic efficiency of the operating and business model.
  • Lead project management and project controlling.
  • Responsible for preparing annual financial statements according to HGB.
  • Holistically responsible for all legal requirements of the company.
  • Directly manage the Heads of Finance and Procurement, People and Workplace, and Principal Legal and Compliance.
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with award law, including national and EU-wide tenders.
  • Responsible for the functionality and adherence to the Public Corporate Governance Kodex.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance for the organization and projects.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, the Supervisory Board, and the Federal Court of Auditors.

Requirements

  • Completed business studies with a focus on finance, controlling, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of experience as CFO, Chief Financial Officer, or in a comparable commercial management position.
  • Sound practical experience in accounting, controlling, planning, and reporting, with solid knowledge of HGB accounting.
  • Experience in establishing or expanding governance, risk management, or control structures in a growing organization.
  • Experience in leading agile teams.
  • Familiarity with modern, hybrid working conditions and a high degree of personal digitalization in one's own work methods.
  • Experience in the professional services environment, particularly in IT services within medium-sized consulting firms, is advantageous.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
