About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Energy Market Advisor to join our EMEA Solutions team. This role is central to our strategy of positioning Energy Exemplar as a trusted strategic advisor to energy-market participants, translating market developments into customer opportunities and compelling go-to-market strategies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor priority EMEA energy markets and maintain a clear view of factors affecting prices, operations, and investment decisions.
- Identify market accelerators like regulatory decisions, policy changes, and price movements that create customer needs and commercial opportunities.
- Translate complex market developments into clear implications for specific customer segments.
- Develop market-specific go-to-market strategies, campaign themes, and messaging with regional sales and marketing teams.
- Generate top-of-funnel activity through targeted campaigns, executive roundtables, webinars, events, and account-based engagement.
- Support early-stage customer conversations as a strategic market advisor.
- Articulate how PLEXOS can address a customer’s specific market, planning, or investment challenge.
- Help sales teams develop strong opportunity foundations, including problem statements and value hypotheses.
- Develop outcome-led business cases for adopting or expanding PLEXOS.
- Advise customers on establishing or maturing an internal energy-modelling practice.
- Create reusable frameworks, workshop approaches, and executive materials to align investment with strategic business outcomes.
- Represent Energy Exemplar at industry events, customer forums, and executive briefings.
- Host webinars and roundtables and contribute articles, blogs, and market commentary.
- Build trusted relationships with customers, prospects, and market stakeholders.
- Bring external insight back into Energy Exemplar’s product positioning, content priorities, and regional strategy.
Requirements
- Substantial experience in energy markets.
- Strong understanding of wholesale market fundamentals, price formation, market design, and drivers of long-term investment.
- Comfortable discussing energy-market modelling and its application to commercial, policy, operational, and system-planning decisions.
- Strong record of engaging senior stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex analysis into compelling recommendations.
- Ability to contribute to business development through market insight, relationships, propositions, or thought leadership.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to move confidently between detailed market discussions, executive-level business issues, and commercially focused conversations.
- Ability to form and defend a well-reasoned point of view.
- Ability to make complex subjects accessible.
- Ability to connect market insight to practical customer action.
