About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer on the Merchandising team, you will be embedded directly in the customer's environment to configure, extend, and build on the RELEX platform. Your work will directly impact retailer decisions on product assortment, pricing, and inventory, leading to reduced waste, better-stocked shelves, and fairer pricing for consumers. This role requires meaningful time on-site with customers, with a focus on discovery and go-live phases.

Responsibilities

Own technical delivery end to end, from discovery through go-live: configuration, extensions, integrations, and the quality of everything that ships into the customer's instance
Prove the value delivered by instrumenting deployments, measuring outcomes against the customer's baseline, and presenting evidence to operational users and executives
Own the technical customer relationship, deeply learning their operations to challenge requirements and become their first point of contact for new issues
Capture gaps and use cases from the field and prototype solutions for the RELEX roadmap
Build customer self-sufficiency through knowledge transfer and clean handovers
Surface adjacent use cases, new sites, and unused capabilities, shaping the technical solution and value case with pre-sales and the account team
Support commercial activity with feasibility assessments, proofs of concept, and technical demos

Requirements

Proven experience designing and building software across the full stack, in production
Strong understanding of system design, observability, and hypothesis-driven development
Experience building integrations for downstream or customer-facing systems
Solid working knowledge of cloud platforms and modern application stacks
Strong business acumen: ability to translate technical work into measurable financial impact and communicate it clearly to a non-technical audience
Comfortable managing ambiguity and taking full ownership of outcomes
Willingness to travel and to work on-site at customer locations for parts of an engagement
Comfortable using AI in everyday work and developing AI tool adoption as an organizational strategy
Fluent in written and spoken English
Hold a valid work permit for the country you reside in / will work in
