About the Role
This role requires deep technical knowledge in the US Casualty market, with a focus on mastering complex US jurisdictions, navigating high-value exposures, and acting as a technical referral point. The ideal candidate will have the ambition to formally lead and develop a high-performing team, even without a formal management title.
Responsibilities
- Managing the technical team, including performance reviews and goal setting.
- Recruiting new employees, including interviewing, providing feedback, and onboarding.
- Producing slips and endorsements.
- Checking processing transactions and transmission of processing documentation.
- Technical account allocation.
- Completing quarterly file reviews, including QA checks, score communication, and action point follow-up.
- Handling, reviewing, and processing bdx for Binders and Lineslips.
- Ensuring Middle Office processes and procedures are followed by the team.
- Communicating Whitespace enhancements and analyzing the impact of changes.
- Pulling and distributing outstanding work reports (quotes, endorsements, subjectivities).
- Running CC / EOC reports to ensure alignment with agreed KPIs.
- Running bad debt and outstanding premium reports for payment deadlines.
- Testing new systems.
- Maintaining the e-filing system for accounts.
- Ensuring the MRC template is compliant with regulatory changes.
- Participating in the internal MRC Wordings Committee to provide input on proposed amendments.
- Agreeing Whitespace and internal review sign-offs for the team and new members.
- Creating and maintaining a BOR tracker for agreed internal processes.
- Collaborating with MD / Team Leads on annual / monthly budgets.
- Building rapport with the Offshore Processing team and running weekly meetings.
- Attending client meetings where applicable.
- Managing the KYC refresh process for the team.
- Coordinating with Bermuda processing to ensure alignment on brokerage allocations.
Requirements
- Excellent technical US Casualty knowledge, including understanding of various types of wordings.
- Good communication skills.
- Data analysis abilities and reporting.
- Experience managing the end-to-end operational technical process from slip preparation; invoicing; bdx management; premium collection; outstanding monies.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to manage and co-ordinate individuals.
- Ability to build relationships across broking, operations, and compliance teams.
- Act as the team’s technical expert for complex risks and processing issues.
- Provide advice, training, and guidance to others in the team.
- Experience with system testing, upgrades, and process improvement is helpful.
