About the Role

Technical Sales Specialist responsible for expanding the business of flow cytometers and cell sorters. This role involves driving new adoption and sales of assigned products, conducting technical sales activities for customers in universities, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and biotech companies, and achieving sales targets. The position also provides ongoing technical support to customers post-installation to maximize instrument utilization and research outcomes, contributing to customer satisfaction. Building long-term customer relationships and fostering new business opportunities through referrals, word-of-mouth, conferences, and joint research are key aspects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical sales and application support for flow cytometer and cell sorter products.
  • Visit customers nationwide or conduct online meetings to provide product explanations, technical proposals, and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to plan and execute sales strategies for assigned customers, driving new business creation and sales expansion.
  • Understand customer research content and experimental workflows to propose optimal products and applications.
  • Coordinate with marketing and technical support to provide comprehensive support from product introduction to sales, installation, and post-installation technical assistance.
  • Provide continuous application support after instrument installation to help customers maximize product utilization and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Build long-term trust with customers and contribute to product adoption and new business opportunity creation through researcher referrals, word-of-mouth, and academic activities.
  • Manage deal progress and sales forecasts using the internal information sharing system (CRM).
  • Collaborate with international product managers to share market and deal information.
  • Participate in academic conferences, exhibitions, and seminars to create touchpoints with new customers and increase product awareness.
  • Share customer feedback, market trends, and competitor information internally to contribute to product strategy and business growth.
  • Collaborate with other product representatives in the Biosciences division to contribute to overall business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Science, Agriculture, Pharmacy, Life Engineering).
  • Practical experience handling Flow Cytometry related equipment (Flow Cytometer or Cell Sorter).
  • Technical knowledge of Flow Cytometry related products and experience in technical proposals or application support for customers.
  • Experience in promoting business by communicating with researchers at universities, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and biotech companies.
  • Business-level Japanese proficiency for reading/writing official documents and negotiation.
  • Ability to read and understand English emails, reports, and manuals.
  • Willingness to travel (domestic and international business trips; over half of the week will be spent on business trips or at customer sites).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to maintain good communication with many internal stakeholders, take initiative, and develop/execute strategies.
  • Ability to gain customer trust and maintain close communication.
  • Ability to propose positive and objective opinions.
  • Ability to learn independently and continue growing.
  • Knowledge and experience in Cell Sorting or advanced Flow Cytometry applications.
  • Knowledge and experience in research utilizing immune antibody staining.
  • Research experience in immunology, cell biology, or cell analysis fields.
  • English proficiency at a level that allows for technical discussions with international counterparts.
