About the Role
This exciting role offers the opportunity to participate in significant large-scale projects, collaborate with diverse stakeholders such as clients and authorities, develop excellently, and work on varied projects across Germany.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan, manage, and execute complex tasks in hydrogeological and hydrological analysis to support network expansion projects.
- Serve as a central point of contact for authorities, project participants, and internal specialist departments.
- Assess the water management impacts of network expansion projects (energy networks), particularly concerning construction water management, water and groundwater protection, and the EU Water Framework Directive.
- Lead the specialist coordination team for water in a collaborative manner on all relevant issues concerning the management of hydrogeological exploration, water law applications in the planning approval process, execution planning, and monitoring of water for several planning approval sections.
- Negotiate and coordinate with authorities and public bodies to ensure efficient and compliant project implementation.
- Independently prepare and manage approval applications, especially in the areas of construction water management, water and groundwater protection, and the Water Framework Directive.
- Develop execution-ready documentation for construction-phase water management in ongoing coordination with the client and, if applicable, the executing companies.
- Represent water management interests in planning approval procedures, including objection management and drafting statements.
- Monitor and manage deadlines, costs, and quality standards to ensure successful project implementation.
- Coordinate and manage external planning offices and collaborate closely with internal specialist departments.
- Develop innovative solutions and optimize existing water management processes within project structures.
Requirements

- Completed studies (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) in Hydrogeology or Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Water Management, Municipal Water Management, or a comparable field.
- Several years of relevant professional experience, particularly in the planning and implementation of complex water management measures in network expansion.
- In-depth knowledge of approval management and experience in collaborating with authorities and political decision-makers.
- Experience in project management, including tracking deadlines and costs, and reporting.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills when dealing with clients, authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and solution-oriented approach with a high degree of personal responsibility.
- Very good German language skills (written and spoken) and good English language skills for collaboration in international projects.
