About the Role
As an Epic Owner (m/f/d/x) – Identity, Household & Trust, you will drive the functional evolution of core capabilities for identity, household structures, and Trust & Safety for MagentaTV across all platforms and markets. Your primary focus is on enabling a consistent, secure, and personalized MagentaTV experience by managing user profiles, household structures, consent, permissions, parental controls, personalization, and cross-service identity. You will act as the central functional interface, translating strategic objectives and market needs into capability roadmaps, epics, and functional requirements, ensuring consistent evolution across devices and markets while balancing diverse stakeholder needs.
Responsibilities
- Define requirements for user profiles and preference structures, ensuring consistent capture and use across services.
- Own functional requirements for cross-service identity.
- Define and continuously evolve requirements for profiles and household structures.
- Own requirements for shared MagentaTV use within a household, including tracking current viewers and profile usage.
- Define requirements for parental controls, child protection features, and kids’ profiles.
- Own platform requirements for content classification, age ratings, and child/youth protection, supporting relevant frameworks and standards.
- Define requirements for permissions and consent management.
- Own the functional evolution of a shared identity and preference model (“Taste Graph”) across multiple services for personalization.
- Ensure cross-service continuity of profiles, preferences, and permissions post-authentication across applications and devices.
- Define requirements for implicit profile recognition while ensuring data protection and privacy safeguards.
- Define requirements for privacy-compliant personalization and use of preference information within consent boundaries, including user controls.
- Harmonize national company requirements for Identity, Household, and Trust & Safety into shared, scalable solutions.
- Initiate and support Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for vendor and technology evaluation.
- Continuously monitor customer feedback and relevant KPIs within the domain.
- Design and steer A/B tests and experiments within the domain based on the shared framework.
- Translate customer needs, business requirements, and market requirements into concrete capabilities and epics.
- Analyze existing customer journeys and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Formulate clear functional requirements and robust acceptance criteria.
- Ensure a consistent customer experience across all supported platforms and devices.
- Work closely with Client Product Owners during refinement and implementation.
- Ensure functional and business objectives are reflected in implemented solutions with UX, Architecture, and Engineering.
- Collaborate closely with Legal and Privacy/Data Protection on consent, compliance, and Trust & Safety requirements.
- Monitor customer feedback and relevant capability KPIs to derive improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Epic Owner, or comparable role focused on identity, household, or similar customer-facing platform capabilities.
- Solid understanding of fundamental data protection principles and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR, as they apply to household, profile, and consent data.
- Familiarity with the regulatory landscape for content classification, age ratings, and child and youth protection (e.g., FSK/USK, PEGI, AVMSD) to define supporting platform capabilities.
- Experience designing and defining customer-centric digital capabilities and product requirements.
- Ability to formulate clear, structured, and traceable requirements and acceptance criteria, including at the portfolio level.
- Experience with data-driven product development and decision-making.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented approach.
- Experience harmonizing requirements across different markets, national companies, or business units.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and structured product requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience with customer journey analysis and digital product development.
- Experience with TV, OTT, or streaming platforms (nice to have).
- Experience with SAFe or a comparable scaled agile framework, including PI Planning, Feature Refinement, and Dependency Management (nice to have).
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence (nice to have).
- Experience with child and youth protection, parental controls, or family- and household-related product capabilities (nice to have).
