About the Role
As a senior member of the Communications team, you'll provide strategic advice across the organisation, manage and develop social media expertise, and champion creative, audience-first thinking. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social media professional who combines strategic vision with hands-on content creation, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about using digital communications to drive meaningful action and help save the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a social media strategy and plan to deliver impactful, relevant, and timely content aligned with wider activity.
- Provide strategic leadership on channel development, identifying emerging opportunities and guiding the team on focus and investment.
- Support the Social Media Manager with a new micro/nano influencer outreach plan.
- Ensure social media is embedded in organisational planning, aligning messaging, campaigns, and supporter journeys with colleagues across Engagement.
- Develop a social listening plan to quickly spot opportunities for meaningful relationships and stay abreast of wider trends.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the social media function, ensuring high-quality delivery through the Social Media team.
- Evaluate and report on the impact and ROI of Anthony Nolan’s owned channels, developing business cases for future focus and investment strategies.
- Oversee paid boosting campaigns and budget management for content creation and Sprout Social.
- Champion social media activity in the Engagement division and the wider organisation, providing strategic guidance.
- Enable teams to confidently integrate social media into their work.
- Play a leading role in cross-organisational working groups, contributing social-led insight and helping shape strategic direction.
- Use social and audience insight to inform priorities, ensuring content and campaigns reflect the needs, motivations, and behaviours of key audiences.
- Take ownership of managing the organisation’s reputation in the social sphere, including handling crisis situations.
