About the Role
The Quality Manager will lead the site Quality team to improve internal and external product quality and foster a world-class quality culture. This role owns end-to-end site quality, including customer issue resolution, supplier quality improvement, and product/process compliance with ISO procedures. Accountable for strengthening the site’s quality management system, improving customer and supplier quality performance, and driving disciplined problem-solving across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and program teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the site ISO certification process and contribute to revisions of the Global Quality Policy, Quality Manual, and quality systems for ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
- Support attainment and maintenance of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
- Review customer quality issues, support root cause investigations, ensure countermeasure implementation, and submit required reports (e.g., 8D) on time.
- Generate, analyze, and report internal and external quality KPIs to identify trends, prioritize improvements, and communicate performance to leadership.
- Develop and manage inspection and quality control plans for incoming materials and finished goods.
- Establish process control procedures and ensure finished products meet quality specifications.
- Lead supplier quality improvement efforts by collaborating with Supply Chain, Procurement, and R&D/Engineering.
- Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Inspection, and Program Management to resolve complex manufacturing quality and compliance challenges.
- Lead Material Review Board (MRB) reviews and daily management activities to disposition nonconforming material and support timely issue resolution.
- Support development and maintenance of DFMEAs and PFMEAs for manufacturing processes and new products.
- Develop, coach, and mentor Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors, building technical capability and career growth opportunities.
- Visit customers and suppliers as needed to support the team and serve as an escalation point for significant quality issues.
- Perform duties in accordance with established quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement activities focused on reducing defects, scrap, and rework while improving product reliability and process capability.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required; master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive Quality leadership experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ownership of a manufacturing Quality Management System (QMS).
- Expert knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, Management Review, and Quality Systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use quality data, trend analysis, and problem-solving tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, audits, customer issues, supplier actions, and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, coaching, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
