About the Role

Seeking a senior platform engineer to lead the migration of the internal platform from its current RKE-based deployment to OpenShift. This is an ownership role where the candidate will drive the migration from design through to full productization and operational handover, working closely with SMEs.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end migration of the platform from RKE to OpenShift from design through build, testing, and full productization.
• Take/participate in platform re-architecture decisions in collaboration with SMEs.
• Stand up and configure the OpenShift environment, ensuring parity and improvement over the existing RKE-based platform.
• Implement full operationalization: monitoring, alerting, and alarm integration for the new platform.
• Manage onboarding of L1/L2 support teams onto the new platform, including runbooks and support processes.
• Take complete technical ownership of the migration programme, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support APIGee platform integration points as required.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on expertise in OpenShift (design, deployment, and administration).
• Strong understanding/experience of RKE (the platform being migrated away from).
• Experience with platform/infrastructure migration projects, ideally in a telecom or network operator environment.
• Familiarity with monitoring/alerting/observability tooling and operationalization practices.
• Ability to work independently and take end-to-end ownership of a transformation programme.
• Telecom/network domain exposure is highly desirable.
