About the Role
The Food & Beverage Assistant Manager balances day-to-day management of the Mode Kitchen & Bar, ensuring smooth operations during service periods, while developing and engaging the team, problem-solving, and delivering results from a people, product, and profit perspective. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in high-quality hotels/restaurants, a passion for memorable dining experiences, and a drive for results by cultivating a fun, performance-driven, and evolving team culture.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong operational presence across all meal serving periods to ensure service standards and the guest experience remain at an optimum.
- Provide leadership, development, support, coaching, and constructive feedback for the team.
- Cultivate a culture that encourages people to connect and thrive, allowing people space to be themselves, whilst aligning the team with restaurant goals.
- Drive performance by setting metrics and benchmarks, identifying ways to improve operations, and leading the way with industry trends.
- Be proactively involved with recruitment, selection, and retention efforts to ensure top talent is sought, confirmed, and retained.
- Develop strong internal relationships across the hotel, ensuring solid partnerships with those who will contribute to the success of the Food & Beverage Division.
- Closely manage labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, purchasing decisions, and stock control.
Requirements
- 2 years' experience in a restaurant leadership role in a 5* hotel with a high focus on quality whilst operating at high volumes.
- A passion to provide an outstanding guest experience.
- A leadership style that is authentic and engaging.
- A positive, can-do attitude that shows resilience and maturity, with strong communication skills.
- A collaborative style that will build strong relations with all Hotel departments who are key to the success of the F&B Division.
- A strong understanding of luxury, with a sharp attention to detail and high focus on service.
