About the Role
Veeam is seeking a Senior Professional Services Project Manager to lead the planning, governance, and successful delivery of Veeam product deployment projects and professional services engagements for customers. This role owns end-to-end delivery execution across onboarding, implementation, consulting, and technical advisory, ensuring predictable outcomes, strong customer experience, and delivery quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Veeam product deployment projects and professional services engagements, including scoping, planning, execution, and closure.
- Own delivery of professional services engagements, including onboarding, implementation, consulting, and technical advisory.
- Manage multi-workstream engagements, building and maintaining project timelines, milestones, resource plans, and dependencies, proactively identifying and resolving schedule risks.
- Establish and enforce project governance, including status reporting, change control, RAID logs, and steering committee cadence.
- Provide technical oversight across data protection, virtualization, and cloud environments throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the engagement lifecycle, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across customers, partners, and internal teams, driving alignment and accountability for delivery outcomes.
- Support rollout plans, enablement, and adoption activities to help customers realize value from their engagements.
- Identify and support follow-on opportunities in collaboration with Sales and Customer Success.
- Plan and manage Customer Infrastructure and Veeam Product Health Check projects, coordinating technical resources and ensuring assessments are delivered on schedule.
- Track findings and recommendations from Health Check engagements through to customer sign-off and, where applicable, follow-on remediation or project scoping.
- Coordinate and manage partner resources engaged on deployment projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate across Technical Account Managers, Solution Architects, Support, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure smooth transitions between pre-sales, delivery, and post-deployment support.
- Support Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCS) programs as required.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and utilization in coordination with Professional Services leadership.
- Identify and escalate project risks, scope changes, and resource conflicts to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting notes, closure documentation, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Contribute to and drive continuous improvement of delivery playbooks, methodologies, templates, and governance practices across the PS/CS organization.
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices to support standardization of delivery processes across the team.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing technology deployment, infrastructure, or professional services engagements, ideally within a software, backup/recovery, or data management vendor or partner organization.
- Demonstrated experience managing project timelines, budgets, and governance frameworks for external customer-facing engagements.
- Experience coordinating third-party, partner, and cross-functional resources (e.g., Technical Account Managers, Solution Architects, Support, Sales) as part of engagement delivery.
- Working technical knowledge of data protection, virtualization, and cloud environments sufficient to provide delivery oversight.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid approaches).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders at varying levels of technical and business seniority.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
Skills
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
- Working knowledge of Veeam products, or experience with backup, recovery, or data protection solutions.
- Experience managing infrastructure assessment or Health Check-style engagements.
- Experience working within a Professional Services or Customer Success organization at a technology vendor.
- Experience mentoring team members and contributing to delivery playbooks and methodologies.
