About the Role
As Product Owner (m/f/d/x) – HTML5 TV Applications, you are responsible for the product strategy and evolution of our HTML5-based TV applications. You own the roadmap and Product Backlog for shared HTML5 client capabilities and ensure efficient leveraging of business logic, reusable components, and shared client frameworks across platforms.
Responsibilities
- Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for HTML5 TV applications and shared client frameworks.
- Own and prioritize the Product Backlog for shared HTML5 client capabilities and reusable framework components.
- Drive the adoption of shared business logic, reusable UI components, and common development frameworks across web applications, Smart TVs, and operator-tier TV devices.
- Work closely with Engineering and Architecture to define scalable client architectures, performance standards, and integration patterns.
- Ensure applications perform reliably and efficiently on hardware-constrained devices while maintaining functional consistency across platforms.
- Work closely with Product Experience to enable a consistent customer experience across all HTML5-based TV clients.
- Define relevant product and quality KPIs and continuously monitor application quality, performance, component reuse, and engineering efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with other Client Product Owners to ensure consistent technical and functional evolution across the TV ecosystem.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into prioritized backlog items and support Engineering teams during refinement and implementation.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or a comparable technical discipline.
- At least five years of professional experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a comparable role with responsibility for HTML5, web, or Smart TV applications.
- Solid understanding of modern HTML5 application architectures, JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, and web technologies.
- Experience working with cross-functional Engineering teams in agile development environments.
- Ability to structure and prioritize technical and business requirements and translate them into actionable product requirements.
- Good understanding of APIs, software architecture, and integration principles.
- Good understanding of performance optimization for embedded and hardware-constrained devices.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented way of working.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
