About the Role
The Toronto Cricket Club is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for evening and weekend shifts to join our Aquatics team. This role is crucial for providing a safe and enjoyable experience for members and guests.
Responsibilities
- Provide swim and lifesaving instruction.
- Perform lifeguarding duties.
- Conduct swimming pool maintenance tasks.
- Ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all members and staff.
- Supervise members and guests in the pool and surrounding area.
- Deliver high-quality instruction for Swim Program, Lifesaving Swim Patrol, and Bronze Levels.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the pool area.
- Enforce Pool Rules and Regulations and adhere to Public Health Regulation 565.
- Represent the Club professionally.
- Participate in meetings, staff training, and Club events.
- Perform administrative tasks, maintenance, and cleaning as assigned.
Requirements
- Acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- At least 1 year of lifeguarding and instructional experience.
- Current National Lifeguard Award.
- Lifesaving Instructor Award.
- Swim Instructor Award.
- Current Intermediate First Aid (Formerly Standard First Aid with CPR C).
- Availability and flexibility for afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate swimmers.
- Responsible and organized with the ability to multi-task.
- High levels of initiative and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team setting.
