About the Role

The Toronto Cricket Club is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for evening and weekend shifts to join our Aquatics team. This role is crucial for providing a safe and enjoyable experience for members and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Provide swim and lifesaving instruction.
  • Perform lifeguarding duties.
  • Conduct swimming pool maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all members and staff.
  • Supervise members and guests in the pool and surrounding area.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction for Swim Program, Lifesaving Swim Patrol, and Bronze Levels.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the pool area.
  • Enforce Pool Rules and Regulations and adhere to Public Health Regulation 565.
  • Represent the Club professionally.
  • Participate in meetings, staff training, and Club events.
  • Perform administrative tasks, maintenance, and cleaning as assigned.

Requirements

  • Acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • At least 1 year of lifeguarding and instructional experience.
  • Current National Lifeguard Award.
  • Lifesaving Instructor Award.
  • Swim Instructor Award.
  • Current Intermediate First Aid (Formerly Standard First Aid with CPR C).
  • Availability and flexibility for afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate swimmers.
  • Responsible and organized with the ability to multi-task.
  • High levels of initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team setting.
