About the Role
Hopae is building the world's most trusted digital identity platform, enabling businesses to verify real people across borders through a single API. As a Software Engineer, you will own real problems end to end, across the full stack, in a fast-paced team with a broad scope.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale the core verification platform, including API architecture, verification lifecycle, async processing, event delivery, and production reliability.
- Connect and operate external identity providers by building adapters, normalization layers, health monitoring, and tooling.
- Build infrastructure for production deployment, including developer tooling, E2E test infrastructure, reference environments, and go-live systems.
- Own quality end to end, including writing tests, monitoring production, and fixing issues.
- Independently investigate failures, identify root causes, and fix the system.
- Work directly with Product, partners, and customers to solve problems.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of software engineering experience with a focus on personal ownership and operation.
- Strong backend fundamentals, including comfort with APIs, distributed systems, async processing, and production reliability.
- Full stack capability, willing to work across backend, infrastructure, tooling, and frontend as needed.
- Experience with testing, observability, and operational readiness as integral parts of the workflow.
- High ownership and low ego, with the ability to drive ambiguous problems to resolution.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment with broad scope and evolving mission.
- Based in Seoul.
- Comfortable working in a global, multicultural, English-first environment.
