About the Role

Oversee the operations of 2-3 Proper Food retail locations, managing a team of approximately 6-12 employees. Responsible for ongoing store operations, including hiring, training, process upholding, and daily operations. This role requires varied weekly hours, including opening and closing.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train & develop staff.
  • Manage employee scheduling and payroll.
  • Address performance issues swiftly and respectfully.
  • Coordinate staffing on a weekly and daily basis.
  • Ensure all procedures are being executed efficiently, effectively and at the highest level.
  • Ensure functionality of all equipment and manage general store upkeep.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience including a spotless store environment, flawless product quality and outstanding customer service.
  • Monitor and respond to customer feedback via multiple channels.
  • Oversee and set daily & weekly inventory pars.
  • Supervise supply ordering.
  • Assist Catering Manager and support catering program.
  • Maintain updated collateral including labels, menus, allergens, signage, and oven settings.
  • Maintain a positive, warm and high-performance culture.
  • Demonstrate hands-on management, jumping in wherever needed.
  • Act as a role model for delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of retail/restaurant management experience.
  • Experience managing a team of 5+ people.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Food Manager Certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for up to 8 hours.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions such as cold, heat, and cleaning chemicals.
